Civil Engineering

I am a Senior Civil Engineering student at Clarkson University, having transferred there after completing my AS degree at Monroe Community College. Before that, I lived the life of a homeschooler, which is where I developed my passion for the intellectually challenging career path upon which I find myself today. I have worked for SJB Geotechnical Services as a field technician and most recently The Pike Company as a construction estimating intern. Don't be fooled, Civil Engineering is the best kind of engineering.

I am beginning my 4th year by studying as an exchange student at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Victoria, Australia. What an opportunity! This trip will not only be something I look back on as a highlight of my life's experiences, but will also be an experience that will develop the life that I have to look back on.

Mechanical Engineering & Math

I am a junior at Clarkson, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from Rochester, NY. At Clarkson, I am a part of the honors program as well as the Women’s Swim team and ultimate Frisbee club. On campus, I am involved in undergraduate research and work as a TA in the Math department.

This semester, I am studying at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the city-state of Singapore. I am looking forward to living in a city for the first time, trying new Asian cuisine, experiencing the progressive Singaporean culture and exploring the Southeast Asia region.

Environmental Engineering

I am a junior majoring in Environmental Engineering at Clarkson, and I’m from Livonia NY. I am also part of the Honors Program, and have started the initial steps of my Honors Thesis. Outside of academics, I enjoying outdoor activities such as kayaking and hiking. I am currently the Vice President of the Clarkson Chapter of NYWEA (New York Water Environment Association), and I plan on joining Engineers Without Borders (EWB) and the Clarkson Belly Dance club upon my return to Clarkson.

I have recently finished an internship with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) in Downsville, NY, where I helped to protect the watershed.

I am truly excited to be living in Denmark for a semester and studying at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Copenhagen. I can’t wait to explore, learn new cultures, and meet new people.

Aeronautical Engineering

I'm currently a senior at Clarkson majoring in Aeronautical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics, but will not be graduating until the spring of 2014. Before my exchange to Sweden, I was employed by GE Aviation in Norwich, NY for an intern/co-op 7 month rotation. With that being said, after my exchange, I will have been absent from Clarkson for a year. Since at Clarkson, I have been invited to and accepted by Sigma Gamma Tau (aeronautical engineering honor society), Tau Beta Pi (engineering honor society), and Pi Mu Epsilon (mathematics honor society). I have several interests outside of academics, of course, including photography, racquetball, tennis, hockey, and recreational "rally" driving.

My ultimate goal after graduating from Clarkson would be to work for a prominent aircraft company, such as Boeing, to aid in the design and development of commercial aircraft. Likewise, I also dream of finding myself working for NASA at some point in my professional career, perhaps even to prepare the space program for the return trips to the moon (and beyond).
I hope you thoroughly enjoy the blog, both my input and that from Emily and Lauren. Let the adventure begin!

Mechanical Engineering

I am a junior mechanical engineering student at Clarkson from Rochester, NY. Doing a double minor in sustainable energy systems and project management. After high school, I spent a year living in Paris, France where I got into photography. At Clarkson, I work for the athletic department as a sports photographer.

This semester I am studying abroad at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. I love travelling and I have heard that New Zealand is the most beautiful place in the world, I cant wait to explore it!

Engineering & Management

I am a Junior Engineering and Management student at Clarkson University, and I am from Saratoga Springs, NY. I went to Schuylerville Central School District, where I decided that I wanted to pursue Engineering. I enjoy working with people and problem solving in teams, so I decided that getting an E&M degree would give me a well rounded perspective of how the business and technical aspects coincide.

At Clarkson, I work at the fitness center, and at home I work for the Adirondack Trust Company as a bank teller. Last summer, I had an internship with TRC Energy Solutions, as an Energy Analyst.
When I graduate, I would like to work for a company that does Energy Engineering, as I have always had an interest in helping the environment. I think that Energy Efficiency is an extremely effective method of reducing damage to the ecosystem.
I'm looking forward to studying in England, and experiencing different cultures.
